OLAI has been shortlisted in AXA and The Standard’s Startup Angel competition.

OLAI has been shortlisted in the top 15 of AXA and The Standard’s Startup Angel competition. We need your vote to also win the People’s Choice Award.

About the opportunity

Startup Angel is delivered by AXA Business Insurance in partnership with The Standard, supporting early-stage UK entrepreneurs with the funding and mentorship they need to grow.

The competition offers two top prizes of £25,000, along with expert mentoring and business insurance, plus a People’s Choice Award decided by public vote.

Vote for OLAI

The People’s Choice Award is decided entirely by public vote, and every vote helps put digital accessibility on the map.

Why this matters

OLAI is building assistive technology that supports older adults, disabled adults, and people living with conditions such as dementia and autism to complete everyday digital tasks independently and with confidence, from booking a GP appointment to managing online banking.

OLAI works with public-sector, retail, venue, and banking organisations, alongside a home app for individual users.

Making the top 15 lands alongside a run of recent recognition for OLAI, including a place on Tech Nation’s Breakout 50, selection as a NextWave 2026 finalist, and funding from GMCA’s Business Growth Hub.

What’s next

The competition closes on 21 June 2026, with two winners taking home £25,000 each, plus a year of business insurance and mentoring from a panel of experienced founders. Four runners-up will also receive mentoring and media support packages.
